STEM SmartLabs

Students in grades K-8 explore science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on, minds-on learning.

Overview

SmartLab is an engaging program where K-8 students can explore science, technology, engineering, math  or STEM and media arts through applied technology and project-based learning. It’s a fully-integrated learning environment where everything from furniture and technology to curriculum and assessment work together to support hands-on, minds-on learning.

In SmartLabs, students are creating remarkable projects that motivate them to inquire, explain, tackle new problems and celebrate their solutions in every lab.

Students explore. They problem-solve. They collaborate and create. And they learn.

Students who engage in projects in these areas gain skills, knowledge, and appreciation for the many fields and professions within STEM industries and lay the foundation for further career exploration. By 2021, the goal of Denver Public Schools and CareerConnect is to provide all K-8 students access to STEM and STEM-related careers.

STEM SmartLabs are available at these schools in 2019-20
