Project Lead the Way – Launch and Gateway

Students in grades K-8 learn through exploration and discovery while collaborating with their fellow students.

Overview

Project Lead the Way is a nationally-recognized, nonprofit provider of science, technology, engineering and math or STEM curriculum for students and training for teachers. For students, PLTW provides the opportunity to apply what they know, identify problems, find unique solutions and lead their own learning. For educators, rigorous teacher training provides tools to transform the classroom into a collaboration space where content comes to life.

PLTW Launch is for students in grades K-5. It focuses on tapping into students’ exploratory nature, engaging them in learning that feels like play and encouraging them to keep discovering– now and for years to come. Each module begins with an engaging story featuring the characters Mylo, Suzi and Angelina. Through hands-on activities, students are challenged to become confident in trying new things, to learn from mistakes and to apply what they know to find solutions.

PLTW Gateway is for students in grades 6-8. It fuels students’ passion for discovery through explorations of coding and robotics, flight and space, and DNA and crime scene analysis. As students engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges, they stretch their imaginations in brand-new ways and connect their learning to life. All the while, students step into roles spanning the career landscape.
